DST is currently offering business opportunities to local content creators through its content partner programme.

As DST’s registered content partner, entrepreneurs can earn money through a revenue sharing scheme when they develop value-added content for the telco’s mobile subscribers.

Some nine companies have already partnered with DST, providing ringback tones, info on-demand, music downloads, games and quizes.

“DST has given me the opportunity to achieve my business dreams. As a content partner, I am able to do what I love and at the same time help DST bring value to its customers,” said Sazali Ariff, CEO of NSCSMS, one of the content partners for DST.

Other successful partners include threegmedia, Greencity Concept, Juztapps, Linknetsolutions, Machtel, Mobitech, Modasys and Quickcell.

Those interested to become a content partner can submit their business proposal to DST at vas.contents@dst.com.bn or call 8725412.

Content is king

Telcos are increasingly pushing into content as demand for data surged over the years, attributed to the growing popularity of video, music streaming and mobile apps.

Sazali highlighted the importance of content in today’s digital era, adding that content providers play a major role in equipping young Bruneians for vision 2035.

“The fast-paced nature of technology today demands us to be more adaptive to current and upcoming trends in the telecommunications industry,” he said.

Muhammad Firdaus bin Abd Rahman, Public Relation Officer of QuickCell & Mobitech, said that people can do great things with content if given the opportunity.

“But as technology is always evolving, it is important to be innovative and not remain stagnant,” he added.

On its retail front, DST is also offering opportunities for customers to earn money on the side or start a small business by becoming dSTIncomm resellers.

The telco today announced E-vendor, a new system that rewards customers discounts and commissions via DSTIncomm’s mobile app, when they purchase products in bulk, such as Easi reloads, iTunes topup, POWERKad, mobile phones, tablets and accessories.

E-vendor will be launched later this year.

Both the Content Partner and E-vendor programmes are being showcased at the International Convention Centre for the Hari Belia Kebangsaan 2019 celebration.
