The Samsung Galaxy S10 series has finally arrived in Brunei and, for a limited time, can be had for a sweet low price when buyers subscribe to DST’s Prima 4G Phone Plans this week.

The promotion, which ends on March 17, gives customers massive discounts to the upfront prices of the Galaxy S10, S10e and S10+ handsets when they commit to one of the four postpaid plans on offer:

The new Prima 4G Phone Plans are available exclusively at DST’s Airport Mall and Kuala Belait branch, as well as all DST Incomm stores.

After the promotion ends, the Prima 4G Phone Plans bundled with the S10 series will return to their normal rates.

The Galaxy S10 series is the latest flagship phones from Samsung and marked 10 years of the acclaimed Galaxy S series. They’re equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 processor and come in three models – the standard 6.1-inch S10, the larger 6.4-inch S10+ and the compact 5.8-inch S10e.

The Galaxy S brand has been largely popular among Bruneians for many years. DST often bundled these handsets with its Prima 4G subscription plans, making them more accessible to consumers.

Guests who attended the launch at the Samsung Experience Store in Gadong yesterday praised Samsung’s new flagship as a major leap forward for the series, and were impressed by the phones’ various innovations such as the dynamic AMOLED screens, the ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensors, and wireless power sharing capabilities.

“Although I’m an iPhone user, I’m still impressed by the Galaxy S’ innovations over the years,” said lifestyle blogger and influencer Alin Metassan, popularly known as Kurapak.

“You can charge the S10 with another S10 phone by stacking them together, and that’s a great feature to have,” he added.

“The screen and the cameras are amazing,” said radio personality Nadzri Harif.

Here are just some of the exciting new features of the new Galaxy S10:

Dynamic AMOLED screens

One of the biggest changes to the new Galaxy S10 series is the screen, and it’s currently the best on the planet. Period.

They’re the industry’s first dynamic OLED screens and the first in the world to get HDR10+ certification, which means that colour reproduction has been pushed to the next level. The clear and vivid display impressed us when we tested them out at the Samsung Experience Store in Gadong yesterday.

Hole-punch cameras

No unsightly notch here, but Samsung has opted for a cutout-style front facing camera on the display. It’s a pretty cool solution as it allows the screen to take up almost the entire face of the Galaxy S10 and S10+, giving the illusion of an all-screen phone.

Ultrasonic In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Samsung has replaced the biometric sensors on the back of last year’s Galaxy S9 with ultrasonic fingerprint sensors embedded beneath the screens of the S10 and S10+.

As the name suggests, these sensors use sound waves to detect a three-dimensional image of a user’s fingerprint. It’s more effective and accurate (down to the ridges of the fingerprint) than the optical type used in the current crop of smartphones.

Triple-Lens Camera

The Galaxy S10+ features a triple lens rear camera setup, the 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens being the new addition to the series. If you’re into ultra-wide photography, then this is the phone for you.

The rear camera system combines a Dual Pixel 12-megapixel lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with the ultra-wide lens for depth mapping.

Software enhancements like the new Bright Night feature (similar to Google’s Night Sight on the Pixel phones) are also a plus.

The S10+ is currently listed at number 3 in DxOMark smartphone camera rankings (right up there with Huawei’s P20 Pro and the Mate 20 Pro), making it one of the best smartphone cameras in the market right now.

Wireless PowerShare

One of the unique features of the S10 and S10 Plus is the ability to wirelessly charge between two S10 phones. This is useful when your phone needs charging and there is no power outlet or powerbank in sight (but will only work with another S10 phone with PowerShare).

Up to 1.5TB of storage and 12GB of RAM

That’s a lot of storage for those who plan to take lots of photos and videos with the S10 or S10+. The 12GB of RAM should also give Fortnite players a significant boost in performance.

If you’re currently set on getting the Galaxy S10, S10e or S10+, DST has the best deals this week with its Prima 4G Phone Plans. Head over to DST’s Airport Mall or Kuala Belait branches or DST Incomm stores today!
