Brunei’s only satellite communications service provider NiAT recently bagged an award for best startup in Asia in 2018 during the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards (ACES) in Singapore.
The award is a recognition of scalable startups or new businesses that offers innovative products, solutions or processes to the marketplace coupled with a steady consumer engagement strategy.
NiAT, which stands for Network Integrity Assurance Technologies, started off offering VSAT and mobility satellite terminals and airtime to government and enterprise customers.
The startup built its business based on a very close relationship with customers and stakeholder, as its solutions are fully customisable to fit the customers’ needs.
More recently, NiAT started to offer portable satellite devices for the public’s use.
“The cornerstone of NiAT has always been its employees. Being recognised for the quality and dedication that the team delivers would certainly give them the acknowledgment they truly deserve,” said NiAT’s CEO Lim Ming Soon, who received the award from ACES at Fairmont Hotel in Singapore on Thursday.
The company said it hopes to focus more towards developing the nation and contributing to the society.
