Bag Networks to host themed race using location-based app

“Brunei is facing an epidemic with the spread of a deadly Na’kruz Virus. Dr Jaya, a Data Scientist, is working as the CIO at XSIZ Technologies. He is leading a top secret team working wit h the government to develop data analytics that can prevent and contain the epidemic.

CR45HD13T Pharmaceutical Company is suspected of trying to sabotage Dr Jaya’s research and tried many unsucessful attempts to steal the data. Dr Jaya is scheduled to present the results of his research after the National Day parade but he was found missing by his colleagues before the national day parade starts.

Rumours say that Dr Jaya is being kept somewher in the capital to force him to stop presenting his research that can ultimately stop the epidemic from spreading.

Your mission is to find and rescue Dr Jaya before his presentation to the government at 2pm.”

That’s the premise for Epidemic: Race to Rescue, an upcoming event designed by BAG Networks that utilises its location-based mobile application technology – the first of its kind in Brunei.

Developed by four young employees at BAG Networks, Epidemic: Race to Rescue will give players an insider perspective on the company’s capabilities in system design, implementation, cybersecurity and analytics, which the company said are integral in supporting Brunei towards achieving Vision 2035.

“We think we have found a solution to showcase innovative technology and services in a fun way – gamification,” said Hjh Siti Rozana DP Hj Md Yunos, BAG Network’s Head of Corporate Services, in a press conference today.

“This gamification is not developed by our main or senior people, but by our young talents in BAG Networks,” she added.

The race will be held at Bandarku Ceria in the capital on Sunday, March 11.

Players are required to form a team of three and download the app before the race. The app will only be announced prior to the start of the race.

Admission for the race is free and open to everyone. Interested participants can register at www.bagnetworks.com.bn by Friday, March 9.

Prizes to be won include a Garmin Vivosport fitness tracker, a JBL Flip 4 wireless speaker and a set of Skullcandy wireless earphones.
