Fifa fans, don’t miss out the Fifa 17 gaming tournament at Freshco Mall in Batu Bersurat today.

Organised by gaming event manager Game On, the tournament will see players compete for the grand prize, a Sony PlayStation 4 Slim gaming console.

Game On is also collaborating with another gaming event organiser, Game Time, for the Injustice 2 tournament, in conjunction with the DC superhero fighting game’s official worldwide release this week. A copy of the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition for the PS4 awaits the champion.

Other game tournaments that are open for all players at the three-day event are Super Smash Brothers on the Nintendo Wii U and Mobile Legends, currently the hottest game app on smartphones.

For Mobile Legends, players simply whip out their phones or tablets and beat other players in the match set by Game On at Freshco Mall.

Participants will compete in the final rounds of each respective games later today.

Amar Agus Din of Game On said that the reception of this weekend’s game tournament have been very positive, particularly for Fifa 17 and Mobile Legends.

“We have more than 140 people signed up for all the games,” he said yesterday, adding that Game On is anticipating a huge turnout for today’s finals.

Game On has been actively organising video game tournaments since last year.

For its collaboration with Game Time, which is a newcomer to the gaming events scene, Amar said that the team-up has helped both parties expand their reach to more gamers in Brunei.

“I think it’s good that we work together rather than just be competitors. It’s also great for the local gaming community,” added Amar.

Najib of Game Time said organising the Injustice 2 tournament is an opportunity to promote the new game to gamers. Injustice 2 is the sequel to the smash hit Injustice: Gods Among Us title that was released in 2012.

“We hope to organise more fighting game tournaments in the future,” said Najib, who is also giving away free Game Time t-shirts for participants of the Injustice 2 tournament this weekend.

The three-day event is supported by Freshco, Mr Brown Coffee, Aiking Trading Co and Adison Marketing Services.
